1. Using Google Drive
Upload your photograph to Google Drive and then open it as a Google Docs document to use this method. Google Docs will transform the image to text for you.
The steps are as follows:
1.Log in to your Google account and open thedrive.google.com website in a browser on your Windows or Mac.
2.Press the Newbutton.
3. Choose File Upload. Then, choose the image from which you wish to extract the text. You can also easily drag and drop the image from your PC into Google Docs. The picture will be saved in your Google Drive account.
4.Now, right-click on the image you saved to Google Drive and choose Open with, followed by Google Docs.
5.A Google Docs document with your image and extracted text will open. Copy and paste the text into your Google Docs document. If you only want to work in this file, simply erase the image from Google Docs and you’re ready to go.
Please keep the following considerations in mind when employing this method:
You can convert pictures in JPEG, PNG, and GIF files to images.
You can also convert PDFs to text using this method.
The picture should be 2MB or smaller.
The document or picture should be right-side up. You must rotate the picture before converting it
The text resolution should be at least 10 pixels. And the method works best for pictures having common fonts like Arial or Times New Roman.

2. Using Add-On The method described above is one of the most effective ways to convert photos to text in Google Docs. However, if you want to extract text from an image right in your Google Docs document, you can utilize a third-party image-to-text add-on.
To install and utilize the add-on to copy text from an image in Google Docs, follow these steps:
1. Navigate to the Img to Docs add-on page and click the Install button.
2. A permissions pop-up will appear. Continue by clicking the button.
3.If you are already signed in, you will be prompted to check in to your Google account or select a Google account.
4.Another permission will appear, requesting you to grant the add-on permission to view and manage Google Docs documents. Select Allow.
5.A confirmation pop-up may appear, indicating that the add-on has been installed.
6.Open your Google Docs document and navigate to Extensions > Image to Text -Image OCR > Start.If you don’t see it, try refreshing your browser.
7.The extension will appear in the right sidebar. Drag and drop the image into the window, or click Upload and select an image.
The extracted text will be shown in the text box on the right side of your website. To put it into your document, click the Insertbutton. You can even make changes to the text before putting it.

3. Using Google Keep If the first two ways fail, you can use Google Keep, a free note-taking software from Google, to extract text from an image. Once the text has been extracted from the image, you may easily add it to a Google Docs document using Google Keep.
For the same, follow these steps:
1.Openkeep.google.com Sign in to your Google account via a browser on your Mac or Windows computer.
2. In the Take a Note bar at the top, click on the Imageicon.
3. Choose the image from which you wish to extract text and copy it.
4.Once the image appears in the Google Keep note, click the three-dot icon at the bottom of the message and choose Grab image text.
5.Google Keep will extract the text from the image and display it in the same note as the image. Copy and paste the text into your Google Docs document. Alternatively, click the three-dot icon once more and select Copy to Google Docs.
6. The image and its extracted content will be copied to a new Google Docs document. When that happens, a confirmation pop-up will appear at the bottom. To view the document, click onOpen.
4. Using Free Image to Text Online Tools If none of the previous ways work, you can try using free third-party image-to-text internet applications. There are numerous tools available for this purpose. We will demonstrate the processes using one of these tools. You can also use any other tool.

1. Launch a browser and navigate to imagetotext.info .
2.Drag or drop the image, or use the Browsebutton to find and pick your image.
3.An image preview will appear. Select the Submitbutton.
4. Wait a few seconds for the tool to do its work. When finished, you will see the retrieved text. Copy to Clipboard to save it to your computer’s clipboard, where you may paste it into any document. Alternatively, click on Download text file to save it to your PC.
