Apex Legends has been one of the most played Battle Royale games ever since its February 2019 release. Since the game’s introduction one month ago, Respawn has been rather aggressively pushing new updates and Battle Pass seasons. So, today the fifth season’s update was released by the developers. Together with the addition of the new legend, Loba, this update adds a tonne of new features to the game, but it also introduces one of the game’s most aggravating bugs ever.
Now, I immediately downloaded and installed the update and anxiously anticipated playing with Loba. I eagerly started the game after waiting for Origin to download over 40 gigabytes of data and install.
Find the Location Where a Photo Was Taken
The game took longer than it should have to load the game data at initially. The real issue, though, began when I visited my friends list page. The game crashed without any errors or other problems as soon as I entered the portion. Since then, the game has crashed every time I’ve opened it, which is quite frustrating.
I looked into it and discovered that many people are having the same problem as of late. While browsing Reddit, I came across some players who were also complaining about this. But, I discovered the solution to this issue while reading the comments under the aforementioned topic, and it did work well for me.
Where is the Location Information Stored on Photos?
In order to fix this bothersome crashing bug, follow these steps.
Now that you’ve selected the Repair option, the client will begin to check the game files on your device.
Access Location Information Attached to a Photo
As the algorithm needs to check approximately 40 GB of data, this could take some time. In my situation, the client began downloading an extra 16 GB of data after confirming the game files, which took roughly 45 minutes to finish.
However, after this download, when I launched the game, it ran perfectly as it should with no signs of crashing or issues with loading data.
Around 16 GB of game data appear to be missing from the most recent patch, which appears to not install the update correctly.
There is a good probability that this remedy will work for you if you are experiencing the same problem as I did. Try it now, and if it works, please let me know in the comments section. Have fun playing!
The Latitude and Longitude information as you can see in the image above is available in the form of Degrees, Minutes and Seconds.
Use Google Maps to Find Where a Photo Was Taken
Unknown to many users, the search function in Google Maps also allows you to search for a place by entering its GPS coordinates.
1. Using the method as described above, get the Latitude and Longitude information attached to the Photo
2. Open Google Maps on your computer and enter the GPS Coordinates into the search bar of Google Maps and press the Enter key on your computer or click on the Search icon (See image below)
3. Within seconds, Google Maps will point the exact location, corresponding to the GPS coordinates that you just entered in the search bar (See image above).
Google Maps accepts coordinates in any of the following formats.
- Degrees, minutes, and seconds (DMS): 41 24 12.2 N 2 10 26.5 E
- Degrees and decimal minutes (DMM): 41 24.2028, 2 10.4418
- Decimal degrees (DD): 41.40338, 2.17403
Make sure that you enter the coordinates correctly, using the correct symbols for degrees, minutes and seconds. You can enter coordinates in decimal degrees, in case you are finding it difficult to enter the degree symbol.
You can take a look at how to search for a place using Latitude and Longitude Coordinates in case you are still not clear about this part.
